I'm still having to wait.  It's a shame seeing as we have just had a run of clear nights... trying to think of a way of moving my scope to the front of the house... but then I can't see Polaris and won't be able to use Sharpcap for my polar alignment. Any ideas?

You could try the drift alignment tool in PHD2. As long as you are roughly pointing towards Polaris when starting drift alignment, you should get decent alignment.

Hi Peter, if you're guiding and not trying too long a sub length the ASPA feature on the AVX might do for a reasonable polar alignment ... run it twice and see how it works out maybe ?

Thanks yes I should give it another try. The last time my basic alignment wasn't good enough and the star disappeared from view and it took me ages to get it back 🙈 Since then I have been using Shapcap which is so fast.
