Alex
I have been playing with my Rosette data again in PI and PS trying various colour combinations. I cant decide which one is best, none of them is also a valid option😉 What do people think? Really appreciate any feedback Version 1 Version 2 Version 3

AstronomyUkraine
All three are very good, but my preference would be version two. What method did you use to combine them? Brian

Brian Thanks Brian 🙂 Fairly Simple process in PI, from memory Dynamic crop -> Dynamic Background Extraction -> EZ Denoise -> Histo Transformation -> Linear Fit to Ha -> Channel Combination -> Photometric Colour Calibration After that there is a nasty purple halo around all of the stars so Invert and SCNR to remove them, you taught me that trick 🙂 Then Starnet++ with a 64 stride to separate the stars and 'Selective Colour' adjustments in Photoshop

The script also previews in real time, so you can see what combination works.

MarkAR
Well the data and processing are top notch so it makes all three images equally good to my eyes. Colour and tone really are down to personal taste, you can get away with more saturation in the colours and also less. Or any variation in colours you like. I suggest you don't look at it for a few days them come back and decide. I certainly can't, I like them all.

I think you are right I'll leave it a few days and come back to them

P Holdsworth
My preference would be version 2. I think the blue has a slightly deeper and more vibrant colour at least on my monitor. Wonderful image 👍

MarkAR
Had another look at these on a larger screen with the brightness up full whack. Version 3 with the green show up some of the structures better.

I am probably losing detail whilst Messing about in Photoshop
Jkulin
For me I like version 1, although I do like punchy colours as it version 2, I think it's too much. Version 3 has too much green in it. Version 1 is a cracker.
BillyBoy
Version 3 for me all the way...👍🏼👍🏼 But all are excellent
Stub Mandrel
All very good, I hate to decide. Main thing is you kept a gentle gradation between blue and yellow/brown, too many images end up with a sudden change but there is no abrupt transition in the object.

Marmot
Firstly they are all images to be proud of. the difference between 1 and 2 appears quite subtle to me, whereas image 3 has colours that are more striking and defined. Obviously a personal choice but for me it’s image 3. The reasoning for this is that the colours, as stated are more striking, but without being ‘over the top’ or too exaggerated. Another way to put it would be........if I were to have one hanging on my wall it would definitely be number 3! Nightspore
Version 2. I'm tempted to download it and use it as screensaver lol.
Padraic M
Three super images. If I had to choose, I would probably say #2.
Gina
I prefer version 3. Lovely image with lots of nice detail. Personally I think it could stand a little brightening.
