Ioptron Commander and Meridian Flips

Last night I did my first flip with the Cem70. It didn't go to plan. I use SGP to control my astro gear, and it seems the Commander and SGP conflict when the flip is due to take place. After reading many conflicting solutions on how to remedy this problem. I decided to let SGP take control of the flip and override the Commander.

My solution was to set the flip in Commander at 1° past the meridian and set SGP to flip at 3 minutes past the meridian, it worked like a charm tonight, no problems whatsoever. Not sure if this solution would apply to other software like NINA, or EKOS though.

yes, had to do similar on the CEM25, else they would clash.  And I use NINA
