RA and DEC gears grinding and mount moving very slowly (Skywatcher EQ5 Pro mount)

The RA and DEC movement is extremely slow and seems to jitter about and the gears make a loud grinding noise. This is then followed by the motor seeming to stop and making a loud high pitch noise. This mount is very new so a bit annoyed that it’s already stopped moving when I’m trying to learn… This started to happen very suddenly as they had worked prior to today. Any help would be appreciated 🙏

Hi. If it is still within the warranty period return it to the vendor for repair.

From your description of the fault it may just need a little adjustment of the gear meshing. If you feel comfortable about adjusting yourself then have a look at AstroBabywebsite https://www.astro-baby.com/heq5-rebuild/heq5-we1.htm 

This is for an HEQ5Pro but the principles are exactly the same for the EQ5 Pro.
