Venus jumped over the moon

Venus jumped over the moon. Beginner here. Every night for a week I look at moon at 12 o’clock high…. Venus is trailing behind for almost 2 weeks, but closing the gap. Last night, November 24, Friday, 2023 Venus close with two moons spacing. Tonight, Saturday, November 2023, Venus is now leading ahead of the moon by 5 moon widths. How did she jump over the moon in one day.? what happened. any good explanations?

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Where in the world are you located?

From my location in north of England on 24th November Jupiter was trailing the Moon

On 25th it was slightly in front.

On the 26th it was considerably in front. Reason Celestial mechanics.

So you weren't looking at Venus at all.

At present you might see Venus early in the morning in the south east.

It's the brightest object in the sky, (in the constellation of Virgo) at around 07:30 GMT, but it won't be high, maybe 28°.
