Bresser 127mm Dew Shield

I bought a dew shield for my Bresser 127 Maksutov.  When I removed the dew shield from its packaging I recognized immediately that something wasn't right, it was flared.  The dew shield opens out to 160mm from the 127mm end which screws onto the tube.  This means that the Mak 127's lens protector can not be attached to the open end of the dew shield.  The dew shield is a Bresser product, not an after market one,  and  I cannot understand why Bresser designed it like that.  So now rather than have the dew shield in place permanently, I have to attach it every time I leave the scope out before an evening viewing session then remove it to put the lens protector back on.
