Windows 11 March 2023 update - hanging - 2024-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5035853)

I had an issue with an update 2024-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5035853) not installing on one of my Windows 11 imaging PCs. It looked like it was hanging at 99%. A quick search of the interwebs revealed that indeed other people were getting the same issue.

The solution was to run the troubleshooter Settings> System> Troubleshoot> Other trouble-shooters> Windows Update > Run

I left it overnight and it had fixed it.

Microsoft, in their wisdom, will be deprecating the troubleshooters in future releases of Windows 11 and replacing them with something else. Hopefully they will work too.

Microsoft should be sued for the way they dish out their pointless untested updates !

No one else would get away with it 🙂

I'm so tempted to stick with Linux but miss NINA too much, I've dabbled with Zorin and Mint a few times but just can't get on with Ekos.

Yes I was an EKOS adopter on Raspberry PIs with its flavour of Debian Linux in the form of Astroberry. But when I saw the changes that had been incorporated into NINA since I initially looked at it in Version 1 days I went back to Windoze to run NINA 2 and now NINA 3. I think it is untouchable now and EKOS unfortunately is falling backwards.

Windows 11 is actually a good OS now but man has it taken a long time to get here still with its foibles.
