It looks like an April fool but is doing the rounds on the forums.

Interesting idea, but too many eggs in one basket for me ... what happens when part of it breaks or a new sensor is developed etc.

In Europe those two items would add up to over 3000 Euro, so I don't see it being genuine. As the old saying goes, "If it's too good to be true, it probably is"

Not to mention, fitting an Asiair inside would probably hinder the TEC cooling, but it would make sense from ZWO to try this as it will help their plans for world dominance  / monopoly of astro equipment 🙂

I prefer a separate computer for when the operating systems become defunct - easy to replace. The camera will still work regardless.

No mention of this on the ZWO website. Someone on Cloudy Nights claimed it was an April Fools joke.

Sounds like it should be an April Fool. Putting a Raspberry Pi, that's what's in an ASIAir, into the back of a camera will in itself generate a lot of unnecessary heat. Some of us astrophotographers use photoshop and its like. Great for manipulating photos 😉

Cuiv has posted a video about it here. New products from NEAIC/NEAF 2024 - he thinks it's a joke too.
